While conducting research on miniature binoculars and their design, manufacturers, and distribution channels, our on line museum collection acquired many examples of vintage distributor/ manufacturer/ dealer catalogs to post excerpts relevant to miniature binoculars on the pages entitled “VINTAGE ADVERTISING”. These catalogs are really quite difficult to find and to obtain, so it seemed a shame not to share them and also expand these holdings into a unique FREE RESEARCH LIBRARY OF BINOCULARS CATALOGS: particularly since the whole premise of creating an on line museum is to maximize accessibility to information. As I know how difficult researching binoculars is. I am acquiring as many more catalogs as possible in as many languages as possible, and am scanning/ posting them, covering pre 1980s binoculars of all types, and including monoculars, telescopes, spotting scopes, and rifle scopes when they happen to be in the catalogs.
